EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ -- January 29, 2026 -- Meadowlands players love their carryovers, and there will be one available Friday (Jan. 30) night sure to tempt any multi-leg punter.
Twenty-cent Pick-6 patrons will have a nice pot to shoot for when the eighth race rolls around, as no winning tickets were sold on the wager last Saturday (Jan. 24) night, creating a carryover of $7,802.
Winner’s odds for the sequence were 12-1, 5-1, 4-1, 3-1, 5-2 and 15-1. Those with five correct selections collected $1,503.54.
In the event $50,000 of “new money” were poured into the pot, there would be a negative takeout on the wager, meaning winning tickets cumulatively will pay off at over 100 percent.
Since the Pick-6 starts out with a low 15 percent takeout, $7,500 would be the rake. Add in the carryover, which is not subject to the tariff, a pool with a surplus of $300 would be the end result. Those of the types of opportunities that bettors live for.
The Pick-6 will be offered on races eight through 13.
THE SCHEDULE: This week marks the final Sunday card on the 2026 Big M schedule.
Post time this Friday and Saturday is 6:20 p.m., while Sunday racing will begin at 12:30 p.m.
WHO’S DOING THE SHOW? This weekend marks the return of Brett Sturman to the Sam McKee Memorial Broadcast Set.
The columnist and handicapper from Harness Racing Update will offer his opinions and selections alongside regular host Dave Little for all three shows, and has promised some provocative topics for the “chit-chat” portion of the pregame presentation, which gets underway at 5:45 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 11:55 a.m. on Sunday.
Ken Warkentin will be in his usual spot calling the races on Friday and Saturday, while The Meadowlands’ Chief Operating Officer and General Manager, Jason Settlemoir, the newly minted voice of the Little Brown Jug, will serve as track announcer on Sunday.
Joe Romanelli will handle back-paddock interviews and FanDuel Television (FDTV) coverage on Friday and Saturday with Gary DiLeo handling those chores on Sunday.
MAMBA GUNS FOR FOURTH STRAIGHT: Mamba showed no ill effects of a 41-day layoff, coming from off the pace to take last Saturday’s feature, a $40,000-$60,000 claiming handicap pace.
The Joe Bongiorno trainee will depart from post eight in the nine-horse field as he seeks a fourth straight win. It won’t be easy, as standing in Mamba’s way will be Sun Of A Show, a close second to Mamba last week as the 2-1 favorite, and Boston Bound, a winner three starts back in a lifetime-best 1:50.1.
MEADOW’S SIX-PACK: Meadow Twaddle, the 23-year-old co-host of the podcast “Hot 2 Trot”, was back on the Sam McKee Memorial Set Friday (Jan. 30) night, and was once again picking winners.
Twaddle finished the night with six on top, including best bet Rock On Line ($6 to win in the second race), EA Mushu ($7.40 in the 11th) and Leave And Roll ($7.20 in the 12th).
Her on-set partner, Big M TV veteran Little, gave out five correct selections, and treated his followers to the early Pick-4, where they cashed in for $130 if they played Little’s $1 base-bet ticket.
