EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ -- December 30, 2025 -- Live racing returns to the Meadowlands for the 2026 season on Friday, January 2. Post time on Friday and Saturday nights remains at 6:20 pm.

 

Sunday racing returns to the track on Sunday, January 11, 18, 25, and February 1. These matinee cards have a 12:30 pm post time.

 

During the Sunday matinee cards, guests can dine at the $39.95 (excludes tax and gratuity) brunch featuring an omelet station, French toast, biscuits and gravy, homemade waffles with maple syrup, and stacks of breakfast sausage and crispy bacon. The carving station on January 11 & 25 will feature roasted turkey, while savory baked ham will be carved on January 18. 

 

Diners looking to add a cocktail to their buffet can enjoy Jason Settlemoir’s homemade spicy Bloody Mary or a variety of mimosas featuring Hambletonian champagne for $15. The Meadowlands Racetrack is bringing back the popular monthly handicapping contests in 2026. The top two finishers in each contest qualify for the invite-only $10,000 tournament in December. The first contest of the year is set for Saturday, January 10. The $1,000 prize pool will be split among the top four finishers.


Our Saturday, January 17 Chili Cook-off is open to cooks of all ages. It offers over $3,000 in prizes in this year’s competition, with homestyle, traditional red, people’s choice, and best salsa categories, plus a best booth bonus prize. Racetrack guests can join the lively atmosphere by sampling delicious chili and voting for their favorite to win the People’s Choice title, with a $250 prize! Voting begins at 7 pm.
