DAN PATCH AWARDS DINNER TO BE LIVESTREAMED SUNDAY

The 2025 Horse of the Year will be announced Sunday night (Feb. 22) at the annual U.S. Harness Writers Association’s (USHWA) Dan Patch Awards dinner, presented by Caesars Entertainment, at Rosen Shingle Creek in Orlando, Fla. But even if you aren’t among the attendees, you will be able to watch the announcement live through the U.S. Trotting Association’s website and USHWA’s Facebook page ...

ORLANDO, FL -- February 22, 2026 -- The 2025 Horse of the Year will be announced Sunday night (Feb. 22) at the annual U.S. Harness Writers Association’s (USHWA) Dan Patch Awards dinner, presented by Caesars Entertainment, at Rosen Shingle Creek in Orlando, Fla. But even if you aren’t among the attendees, you will be able to watch the announcement live through the U.S. Trotting Association’s website and USHWA’s Facebook page.

 

The banquet will be held in the Panzacola Ballroom, with the awards ceremony getting underway at 6:30 p.m. (EST). At approximately 9:30 p.m., emcees Roger Huston, Jason Settlemoir and Dave Little will announce the names of the Trotter of the Year and the Pacer of the Year, with the winner of the E. Roland Harriman Horse of the Year trophy to follow shortly after.

 

Post time for the evening is 5:30 p.m., with the cocktail hour and open bar sponsored by William Pollock, Bruce Areman and Andrew Harris. Starring on the Courant Inc. Red Carpet, presented by the USTA and USHWA, will be the USTA’s Wendy Ross, who will broadcast live on the USTA YouTube and Facebook pages and the USHWA Facebook page. It’s your opportunity to see who’s wearing what and what the attendees have to say about the festivities.
