MANALAPAN, NJ — May 16, 2025 — The Standardbred Breeders and Owners Association of New Jersey is proud to announce purse increases to the Garden State Trot races this Saturday (May 17) at the Meadowlands.

With 12 fillies entered, the fillies will go two divisions both with a purse of $40,000 each. This reflects an increase of $20,000 from the original estimate of $60,000 for one division.

The 17 colts entered will race two divisions totaling $115,000. One division will race for $55,000 and the other for $60,000. With the added number of entries, the purse was increased from the original advertised amount of $60,000 for one division.

This year’s purse increases are supported by the additional money received from the New Jersey State Appropriation. The SBOANJ is pleased for the increased interest in this year's Garden State Trot and looking forward to continued participation in all SBOANJ sponsored races.
