BOCA RATON, FL -- September 21, 2023 -- Syndicate Manager Eric Cherry announced on Thursday that Tattoo Artist p,5,1:47.1s ($2,526,058) will stand stud in New Jersey beginning in 2024.

A son of Meadowlands Pace winner He’s Watching p,3,1:46.4 ($1,116,450) and out of Breeders Crown winner Stylish Artist p,3,1:51 ($937,566), Tattoo Artist has raced at the top level from his 2-year-old season through this year’s campaign as a 6-year-old.

At 2, he won two legs of the Ontario Gold Series and the Super Final followed by a championship year as a 3-year-old with victories in the Simcoe, five legs of the Ontario Gold Series and a second place finish in the North America Cup.

As an older horse, he captured numerous Invitationals, the Joe Gerrity Jr. Memorial at Saratoga, and this year the Canadian Pacing Derby in 1:47.4s-:26.1 over Jug winner Bythemissal and Allywag Hanover. His 1:48.2f blowout win at Scioto in the $260,000 Ewart Memorial in his latest start boosted his career earnings to over $2.5 million.

“I’ve had Tattoo Artist all his life and the fact that he’s in razor sharp form at age six after 89 starts is remarkable,” says partnership spokesman Eric Cherry. “He has all the tools for a successful stallion career — durability, extreme early speed, soundness and grit. I plan on breeding many of my best broodmares to him.”

Tentative plans are to finish his career with starts at Mohawk this week in an Invitational, a Dayton Invitational, Breeders Crown at Hoosier and TVG at The Meadowlands.

Tattoo Artist is expected to enter the stud barn at Deo Volente Farms in 2024. Syndication details are being finalized. If you have any questions on purchasing shares or breeding a mare, please contact Eric Cherry at 561.212.5700.
