USHWA SETS SCHEDULE FOR DAN PATCH AWARD RELEASES

HARRISBURG, PA -- December 22, 2023 -- The United States Harness Writers Association has announced the schedule for the release of the Dan Patch Awards, presented by Caesars Entertainment, with the banquet to be held on Sunday (Feb. 25) at the Rosen Centre in Orlando, Fla.


The announcement of the 12 divisional equine winners will originate from The Meadowlands during a special expanded “pre-game show” on Saturday night (Dec. 30). The broadcast can be viewed on the Meadowlands RTN feed, their YouTube channel (link) and their Facebook page (link).


“My sincere appreciation and gratitude go out to Jason Settlemoir, Meadowlands COO and General Manager, and his staff for stepping up to host the divisional announcements,” commented Barry Lefkowitz, USHWA President.

Trotter of the Year, Pacer of the Year, and the coveted Horse of the Year titles will be announced live at the Dan Patch Banquet in Orlando on Feb. 25.


All other Dan Patch Award winners, in the human and breeding achievement ranks, will be announced by USHWA over three days: Wednesday (Dec. 27), Thursday (Dec. 28) and Friday (Dec. 29). The results of those awards can be found on USHWA’s Facebook page (www.facebook.com/USHarnessWriters/) and industry outlets.
