EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ -- January 23, 2026 -- Due to the impending snowstorm expected to hit the New York Metropolitan and surrounding areas, there will be some changes to the schedule at The Meadowlands for Saturday (Jan. 24) and Sunday (Jan. 25).

The Saturday races will now get underway at 6 p.m., rather than the usual 6:20 p.m. The races will be contested at a fast pace throughout the night in an effort to get all horsemen and women home in a timely fashion.

Qualifiers are unchanged and will begin at 4 p.m. Saturday.

The Sunday program has been canceled.

“We want to contest our Saturday races at a quick pace,” said Big M Chief Operating Officer and General Manager Jason Settlemoir. “We want to ensure our employees, horsemen, women and equine athletes are able to arrive home earlier than normal. We do want to remind our horsemen to bring extra help to get through the day, since we will have qualifiers followed soon thereafter by our betting card.

“Because of the speed at which we are anticipating running the races on Saturday, we will not offer the normal $50,000 guaranteed pools on our pair of 50-cent Pick-4s.”

As of now, the plan at The Big M is to remain open on Sunday (Jan. 25) for simulcasting and sports wagering at the FanDuel Sportsbook, but always check The Meadowlands’ website, playmeadowlands.com, to check for any possible updates.
